I would agree that the Koodo Blackberry is a wonderful deal. Have fun with your new phone Brendan. I will be waiting awhile myself as I might have to spend a considerable amout of time in Europe, later this year.

Okay, I love my Curve 8530. I do really think RIM did a great job! The only complaint i have, is that installing the desktop software for BB is really temperamental.
Other then that everything is perfect! You just have to make sure you don't get food stuck, or dirt under the keys!

Koodo Mobile will be getting BlackBerry service sometime soon. Koodo is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Carrier TELUS, and usually deals with cheap phones and pay-as-you-go, but with the launch of an HSPA network by its parent company, Koodo has the opportunity to bring in a wider range of devices, including smart phones.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server is to use the BlackBerry Internet Service. It was developed primarily for the average consumer rather than for the business consumer. This service allows POP3 and IMAP email integration for the personal user. It allows up to 10 email accounts to be accessed, including many popular email accounts such as Gmail and yahoo

I must say that I find this description a trifle confusing. For a better description of what is BIS and BES see here (http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-2-bes-and-bis-whats-difference).

Hi,
I am planning to get a Blackberry soon or in a couple more months. But I was wondering if Koodo is a good phone provider for Blackberry as there no system access fee and other charges except for the plan. Is it a good choice to get a blackberry with koodo or where?

For what it's worth, I recently wondered the same thing about my dad's Bold 9000 (also on Rogers), and the answer was yes. you'll need to input the IMEI from your blackberry (plenty of videos on youtube can show you where to look it up, but it's unique to your phone).
Since you seem to be a step ahead of what I'm considering, I'm curious - did you buy a new phone locked to Rogers with the intention of unlocking it? I've been wondering if I could go to Telus (same company as Koodo), buy a 9330, and have them unlock it on the spot (since I'm paying full price) so I could use it with Koodo without voiding the warranty.

The 8310 would not work on Koodo as it is a 2G-only phone.

Even if you bought the 9300 outright, Telus will not unlock it. At this time, Telus does not unlock any of their devices.

CDMA devices cannot be unlocked, only GSM devices, or white listed Devices....CDMA will never be unlocked as they are loaded into a master system and you cannot ever transfer that from that Carrier, GSM phones are a different story.
