I have heard many rumours about new phones coming to koodo (from telus).
It seems that, as reported by you, the Samsung slyde is almost a sure bet, and I read on wikipedia that the RAZR ve20 is coming to koodo.
On one forum, I read that the LG voyager might come to koodo (ha)
My list of phones I would like:
LG Dare (relatively cheap)
Blackberry pearl
A slider phone a.k.a Samsung a523 or LG chocolate spin
A music phone (chocolate gig?)

Although I'm not with Koodo...I would like to see the pearl as they are currently the only ones without it...

i doubt that the Pearl would even reach KOODO because of its market target. The Pearl would be nice though, but i would like to see more qwerty keyboard devices hence because they would be able to take control of the texting and voice packages that KOODO loves to combine and give.

I think that great additions would be samsung m540 slyde and lg voyager at the top level to replae the shine, of course a Rim product would be nice...may or may not happen.

I think it would be good for them to get the voyager... solid phone and good for texting.

Samsung m540 would actually be a good fit to its target market, KOODO should think of dropping in with some type of high or middle level device maybe blackberry flip maybe.

First off, the pearl flip is a gsm phone, so it won't ever be coming to telus/bell/koodo/solo/virgin well... ever. Not until they make the flip to gsm (next year, cant wait).
Second, Koodo is focusing on inexpensive and trendy, and although the pearl is definitely trendy, there is nothing inexpensive about a 400$ phone with a 70$ a month phone bill. Telus is definitely going for the smartphone audience and letting the koodo brand focus on txting and cheapness

also have to mention that koodo should have a good time selling a smartphone without a contract.

Yea they can put the Pearl on the tab... and pay it back for the next 7 years hahaha
But in all seriousness, Koodo might have to step up with a Pearl. Their two closest competitors, Virgin and Fido, both have the Pearl (Fido on Feb. 4). I made this comment a while back about Koodo to one of my friends when I first heard about them. Koodo's market segment is a shrinking segment. If you look, customer's wireless needs are constantly evolving, every day even! To operate a sub-brand with no smartphones is brand suicide. For every person that comes in and wants a $15 dollar plan, I get 2-3 customers who want to purchase an iPhone or another smartphone with a data plan (Fido). By not offering these things, once again Telus is shooting themselves in the foot, almost like when they were going to buy Fido and then flopped on that LOL

I agree completely. I think their brand is good and has made a strong impression in the year its been around... but smartphones are the way to go, especially with the youth market with facebook, messenger, web...

This is my first year in high school, and you cannot imagine how many people I see who have a blackberry pearl (about 40%), a curve (5%), and I even saw a 10th grader with a storm!

Fido and Solo both offer a limited selection of smartphones. I wonder if Koodo will ever jump on that bandwagon and add a couple of WinMo devices or a low end blackberry (like the pearl) to their lineup.

There is a CDMA Pearl Flip. I know this is an old post, but there has been the Pearl Flip on CDMA for a while now.

Samsung Slyde is a phone that is loaded in their data base. It's an alright phone...nothing great, but waiting for them to get androids.
As for phones that I would like to see on Koodo are the following:
Samsung Apollo
LG Shine Plus
Blackberry Bold 9670
Samsung Gravity Touch

What I would like to see is a new Blackberry with a proper keyboard, like we have not seen since the days of the 8700 series.

To me the point of going for discount brands is the plans... I'm currently with Koodo only because I brought my unlocked phone with me, there is no way I would have got one of the plasticky things they call phones...
I would love to see some higher end phones, just like Virgin offer... They do offer the Samsung Galaxy S no?
So why not the HTC Desire on Koodo?
AbsoluteDark

HTC Desire is Telus' flagship phone. I don't think that they will ever offer that. Though with the release of the Galaxy S phone then I'm sure that it might change really quickly. I don't know what I would want anymore, my choices change on a daily basis.
an android phone for koodo would be amazing..

I would love to see the new LG LTE 'eye' come to koodo when it's released, but I doubt it will. (too expensive) I would just like to see koodo have it becasue it would offer a great upgrade from the Optimus One.
