Hello there, I'm currently with Koodo and was considering switching my phone to a Nokia 3710. The main reason for the switch would be to have access to the Nokia maps and A-GPS functionality.
I know this functionality exists on the Nokia 3710 available from Telus. Is it also available on the Nokia 3710 available from Koodo or do they have different "wireless provider-dependent" firmware on these phones? (on the Koodo website the A-GPS functionality for that phone is not advertised)
I do not intend to use a data plan from my GPS usage as my understanding is that Nokia provides software (OVI) that allows one to download relevant maps offline i.e. directly to the phone from a PC via USB. One can then store these maps on a microSD and perform GPS navigation strictly offline. Has anyone here used OVI before and can confirm this?
Thanx for your input!
